Langverwacht Winery

Established in 1954 as Boesmansrivier Wine Cellar, the winery received its first harvest in 1956. However, to avoid confusion with the nearby Boesmansrivier Cheese Factory, it was later renamed Langverwacht after the farm on which it was built.

Nestled near Bonnievale, Langverwacht benefits from warm summer days and a cooling southeastern ocean breeze, creating ideal conditions for vine cultivation. The vineyards thrive in a mix of sandy, lime-rich, and red clay soils, producing easy-drinking, fruit-forward wines that showcase the true character of their cultivars.

Over the years, Langverwacht has earned prestigious Michelangelo and Veritas awards. Today, the cellar processes more than 13,000 tons of grapes annually, with white varieties making up 85% of production.

The winemaking team, led by Cellar Master Marko Pentz, includes Head Winemaker Theunis Botha and Assistant Winemaker Andries Le Roux. Their expertise and passion ensure the creation of high-quality, award-winning wines.

Langverwacht is renowned for its exceptional Chardonnays, Colombars, and Shiraz. The tasting room is open Monday to Friday—visit us to experience our award-winning wines firsthand!
